We're seeking to appoint two Accounting Services Officers to make a meaningful impact by helping deliver efficient and accurate financial services to our community. As the Accounting Services Officer, you will play a key role in supporting Council’s financial operations through the delivery of accounts payable, financial accounting and sundry debtor services.
Working within the Financial Services team, you will help ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and on time, financial records are maintained to a high standard, and customer enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge and a customer-focused approach.

About the Role
As the Accounting Services Officer, you will be responsible for supporting key financial processes across Council, with a focus on accounts payable, general accounting activities and sundry debtors administration. You will ensure invoices and payment requests are processed accurately and in accordance with legislative requirements, accounting standards and Council policies.
The role also includes reconciling financial records, administering Council's credit card facility, assisting with month-end accounting processes and supporting debt recovery activities.
About the Successful Candidate
To be successful, you will bring experience in accounts payable, accounting services or a similar finance role.
You will possess strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will be confident using financial software and Microsoft Excel, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.
