We require an experienced apiarist/beekeeper to join our team. The role will cover all aspects of beekeeping and Australian recognized training and certification would be desirable. Experience in queen rearing would be an advantage, as would license's for both heavy vehicles and forklifts.
As an experienced Apiarist/Beekeeper you will join an established family business in the Swan Hill region of North-west Victoria, 370km from Melbourne. You will often work independently but within a supportive and caring environment.
You will be expected to follow safety and OH&S procedures and use your experience and enthusiasm to support the growth of the business.
Tasks and responsibilities include
- Weekly monitoring, recording of and maintaining the health and conditions of hives
- Travelling as required for pollination and feed opportunities
- Honey Extraction
- Queen breeding and management
- Control of pests and weeds as required
- Maintaining equipment and supply systems
- Maintaining some written and online reports and records and monitoring risks
- May sometimes be required to help train and supervise new or junior staff or contractors
- Specific additional training and forklift license training can be provided
Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
