About Empowered Minds Australia
Empowered Minds Australia is a growing multidisciplinary allied health clinic based in Truganina, in Melbourne's western suburbs. We deliver structured, high-quality services across Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, and Behaviour Support.
We work with neurodivergent children and adolescents, and adults with complex presentations. Our approach is clinically rigorous, neurodiversity-affirming, and built around real outcomes for real people. We are not a high-volume, revolving-door practice. We are building something deliberate, with strong systems, genuine clinical leadership, and a team that stays because it is worth staying.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced ABA Therapist who wants to do meaningful, skilled work and actually be supported to do it well. You will design and deliver evidence-based, person-centred behaviour programs for neurodivergent children and adolescents, focused on building skills, independence, and quality of life.
You will be embedded in a genuine multidisciplinary team, working alongside Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Behaviour Support Practitioners, with clear clinical leadership and a defined career pathway from day one. Realistic caseloads, proper supervision, and modern systems mean you spend your energy where it matters: on your clients and families.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering 1:1 ABA and early-intervention programs for neurodivergent clients
- Implementing behaviour support and skill-acquisition plans with fidelity
- Collecting and analysing session data to track progress and inform programs
- Providing parent and caregiver training and coaching
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team on complex cases
- Contributing to assessments, case reviews, and clinical documentation
- Community and in-home outreach visits where clinically indicated
What We're Looking For
- Required: Demonstrated experience delivering ABA or evidence-based behavioural intervention programs
- Required: A relevant tertiary qualification (for example psychology, behavioural science, education, social work, or a related allied health field)
- Required: Membership with the Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia (ABA Australia), or willingness to apply
- Required: Experience supporting a range of neurodivergent presentations (such as autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, and intellectual disability) and complex or challenging behaviours
- Required: Strong data collection, documentation, and program-implementation skills
- Required: Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- Required: Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Highly regarded: Progress toward, or completion of, BCBA / BCaBA certification
- Highly regarded: Experience within or alongside NDIS behaviour support, and familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support and NDIS reporting
What We Offer
- Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
- Career pathway: ABA Therapist to Senior to Team Lead as Empowered Minds Australia grows
- Supervision: Regular clinical supervision and genuine support from experienced practitioners
- Professional development: $3,000 per year PD budget, plus support toward ABA Australia membership and certification
- Caseload: A consistent, meaningful caseload from day one, western suburbs demand is real
- Team: Genuine multidisciplinary collaboration, not clinical isolation
- Systems: Modern clinical practice management via Splose, less admin, more practice
- Flexibility: Full-time or part-time arrangements considered
Who Thrives Here
We care about who you are as much as what you've done. The people who do well here share a few things:
- Compassion, you see the child and the family first, and you treat both with respect
- Rigour, you follow the evidence, collect clean data, and hold a high standard
- Reliability, families and colleagues can count on you to show up and follow through
- Collaboration, you work well in a team and value other disciplines' input
- Growth mindset, you want to keep learning and getting better at your craft
Why Melbourne's West
Melbourne's western corridor is one of the most underserviced allied health regions in Victoria. If you have been working in a saturated practice competing for referrals, this is different. You will have a full and meaningful caseload, genuine impact, and room to build real depth in your practice. Truganina and the surrounding suburbs (Wyndham Vale, Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook, Tarneit, Melton) are growing fast, and demand for quality support is well ahead of supply.
