Salary - $77,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join a friendly and dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy and well-established hospitality venue focused on delivering high-quality modern Australian cuisine and exceptional dining experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of modern Australian bistro meals, ensuring quality, consistency and timely service across lunch, dinner and function operations.
- Coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and service during busy trading periods.
- Assist in designing and updating seasonal menus, daily specials and function menus that reflect customer demand and current food trends.
- Monitor ingredient requirements, order stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimising food waste and controlling costs.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, portion control and consistency across all menu items.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled and prepared in accordance with Food safety Standards and workplace hygiene requirements.
- Supervise, train and support kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, productivity and adherence to kitchen procedures.
- Monitor kitchen workflow and allocate tasks to ensure efficient service and effective use of resources.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen while ensuring compliance with OH&S and food safety legislation.
This role demands strong leadership, excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a busy service environment while maintaining a genuine passion for producing quality food.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) experience as a Chef within a busy restaurant, hotel or bistro environment.
- Proven ability to prepare and present a broad range of modern Australian meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Experience coordinating kitchen operations and supporting the supervision and development of kitchen staff.
- Strong understanding of food costing, portion control, ordering and kitchen management.
- Sound knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

- Availability to work across weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
