Orana Engineering is seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our close-knit team of engineers based in Townsville.
In this full-time role, you’ll report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a leading role in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the mining and heavy industrial sectors.
This position offers a rewarding balance of office-based design, site support, and project management, where you’ll apply your expertise to solve complex engineering challenges and drive projects from concept through to completion. - Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.

Lead electrical engineering design and deliver high quality HV and LV systems including power distribution, motor/equipment control, and communications and safety systems projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, regulations, and industry best practices (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5368 and AS/NZS 2081, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067, AS 1768 and more).

Utilise industry standard engineering design software and tools (Power Tools for Windows, PowerCAD, AutoCAD, etc). Similar software experience is welcomed.

Perform engineering audits, inspections and design reviews, prepare reports and deliver technical presentations.

Manage all facets of project management from concept to completion, ensuring scope, budgets and deliverable schedules are met, and maintain professional communication with the client throughout the project.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior engineers.

Participate in both onsite and office-based works throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with clients, vendors and internal teams to deliver quality outcomes.

You are an experienced Electrical Engineer with demonstrated experience in delivering high quality projects in the mining and heavy industrial sectors. You bring a combination of strong technical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills alongside the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to both clients and colleagues.
You thrive in an environment that balances hands-on design and project management, taking ownership of project outcomes and building long term client relationships that aligns with business objectives.
Requirements

Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical), recognised by Engineers Australia.

Experience in mining, oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors, or similar industries.

Working towards or already obtained RPEQ status
