Excellent opportunity to come and advance your gynaecological skills. This role provides effective obstetric and gynaecological services to the patients of the Hunter New England Local Health District, whilst undertaking learning and professional development activities with the aim of progressing to the Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
This position will satisfy the RANZCOG Advanced Training Module criteria for the Generalist Gynaecology Advanced Training Module and provides an opportunity to complete special interest Advanced Training Modules in gynaecological surgery.
The Provisional Fellow in gynaecology is a key member of a hardworking team that ensures service delivery across the spectrum of O&G. They take a leadership role in ward and postoperative rounds and management of complex inpatients. They participate fully in the after-hours rosters covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The role includes a contribution to daytime Birth Suite, caesarean lists, and antenatal clinic coverage.
The Maternity and Gynaecology Service based at John Hunter Hospital has 48 Obstetric beds (with an additional 15 flexible beds) and performs 4,300 deliveries per annum approximately 2500 operating sessions.
