UniSQ is seeking a Senior Software Developer to play a key role in the development, integration, enhancement, and support of critical enterprise applications. Working within Information Technology & Digital Services (ITDS), you'll contribute to the design and delivery of robust, scalable solutions that support the University's strategic objectives and enhance the experience of students and staff.
Who you are
You’re a forward-thinking Software Engineer with at least four years' experience in a development role. You’ll be self-motivated with a willingness to learn, as well as strong problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. You’ll have strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships within the team and across the University.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Platform Lead (Learning, Teaching and Middleware), you will provide senior technical expertise across the full software development lifecycle. You'll work closely with like-minded individuals and other technical teams, and you’ll undertake the following:

Design, development, integration and ongoing support of the University Learning and Teaching systems;

Champion development standards, quality assurance, and best practices;

Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to drive continuous improvement;

Provide technical expertise through code peer reviews, mentoring, and solution design;

Ensure applications remain secure, reliable, and aligned with organisational standards.
What will help you succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring the relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Computing, IT, Software Engineering or related discipline, as well as:

Advanced full-stack PHP software development skills, particularly with Red Hat Linux, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Experience with Laravel and Angular would be considered an advantage;

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including troubleshooting complex application issues and delivering effective solutions with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement;

Strong experience across analysis, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of software applications;

Proven business and data analysis capabilities;

Understanding of project delivery methodologies and development best practices.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills;

The ability to work collaboratively, influence outcomes, and contribute positively to team success.
