As our Scholarly Communications Librarian, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility, impact, and integrity of UniSQ research.
You’ll lead strategic initiatives in scholarly publishing, open access, and research visibility, working collaboratively across the University to support researchers and strengthen our institutional research capability. In this influential role, you will provide senior expertise and leadership in advancing UniSQ’s scholarly communication practices, ensuring our research is discoverable, responsible, and aligned with national and international standards.

What you'll do
In this influential role, you’ll shape scholarly communication services that enhance the visibility, accessibility and impact of UniSQ research. Working closely with academics, researchers and professional teams, you’ll provide expert advice on scholarly publishing, open access, researcher profiles and responsible research metrics.
Over your first 6–12 months, you’ll build strong stakeholder relationships, strengthen awareness of scholarly communications services, and contribute to initiatives that support open research and research excellence.
Your day-to-day work will include:

Providing advice on scholarly publishing, open access and research visibility

Supporting academics and HDR students with researcher profiles and publication strategies

Delivering training, resources and capability-building initiatives

Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve services and support strategic priorities

Monitoring sector trends and contributing to innovative, evidence-based service improvements

What will help you succeed
You will have relevant postgraduate qualifications in Library and Information Science and eligibility for Associate (or higher) membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or extensive equivalent professional experience and expertise.
You’ll ideally have:

Substantial experience in scholarly communications, research support or a related higher education or research environment

Strong knowledge of scholarly publishing, open access, researcher profiles and bibliometrics

Experience providing strategic advice and support to academics, researchers and senior leaders

Highly developed communication, presentation and relationship-building skills

Experience designing and delivering training, resources or capability-building initiatives

A collaborative approach with a commitment to service excellence.
