Do you have an inquisitive mind and keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial documentation along with interpreting legislation? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Business Taxes Team as an Compliance Officer at Revenue NSW.
Revenue NSW is the state’s principal revenue management agency and is part of the Department of Customer Service (DCS). We manage taxes, fines, debts and administer grants in a fair, efficient and timely manner. Through this we give back to the community and fund essential State services for the people of NSW.
As a Compliance Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in conducting audits and investigations to ensure adherence to relevant laws and internal policies. You will research and make decisions and provide customer education on compliance related matters. Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively is vital in this role.
About the role
As the Compliance Support Officer, you will:

Utilise your Accounting or Finance knowledge to interpret financial documents and analyse information in a compliance setting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in writing clear correspondence and accurate reports.

Meet customers or their external representatives such as accountants via online meetings or at their place of business, conduct interviews and review key documents.

Analyse customer information from various external and internal data sources in compliance with relevant legislation and prepare reports outlining findings and recommendations.

Advise customers of audit conclusions and work in collaboration with them to meet their obligations.

Deliver customer focused education and connect them to relevant educational resources.

Perform regular travel within the Sydney region where our customers are mainly located, and from time-to-time travel to areas outside of Sydney.

Have Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
