The Drug Detection Agency Queensland (TDDA QLD) is a fast growing, dynamic company that specialises in providing on-site Drug and Alcohol testing services to a range of industries Australia wide.
Our North Brisbane office is searching for a reliable and professional team member to join the TDDA QLD team as a drug and alcohol specimen collector.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours with availability over a 7-day roster and at times with short notice for after-hours call-outs (when on call,award penalty rates apply to overtime, non-standard working hours and on-call work etc.) and interact closely with TDDA’s clients.
THIS IS NOT A LABORATORY BASED POSITION. THIS POSITION IS FOR A MOBILE DRUG AND ALCOHOL COLLECTOR.
- You will work predominately on the North Brisbane area (with some evening work on the South side) and you will report directly to the TDDA Queensland Operations Manager with the full support of the TDDA State Support Office to ensure your success in this role. Residing on the northern side of the Brisbane River is required. Please only apply if you live within no more than 10 mins from Eagle Farm and on the northern side of the river (due to operational requirements and travel time constraints on call-outs and locations of our clients).
- The hours of this position are casual consisting of a mix of early day starts, evenings and joining of the week to week on-call afterhours roster which provides a starting base of 14 hours in your on-call week (regardless of calls out or not). Approximately 15-20 hours a week with some variation.
- Flexibility is imperative, as testing is required by companies at all hours of the day. This position will require the successful applicant to complete day shifts, evening shifts (during the weekdays) and after-hours on-call duty (on a 7-day rotating roster) during the evenings and weekends, you will be compensated accordingly under the award. It will NOT suit candidates with daily inflexible existing commitments.
- You will work predominately from a purpose built TDDA mobile testing van that can be kept with you for ease of completing jobs in an efficient manner.
This position involves a great amount of autonomy; therefore, you will need to have outstanding organisational and time management skills.
You will receive full and exclusive TDDA training to become an accredited on-site specimen collector for drug and alcohol testing services using our purpose built mobile testing vans. Any previous experience in this field would be recognised and highly regarded but is not a necessity. You will require your own reliable and roadworthy vehicle with a full and current manual driver’s licence.
Interviews will commence at the beginning of June with training to start by mid June.

Key Skills and Attributes required for this role include:
- Availability to work on an as-needs casual on-call basis 7 days a week
- Have roadworthy/reliable transport with a current open manual driver’s licence
- Ability to work independently and within time frames

- Exceptional attention to detail in completing paperwork
- Be computer literate in Microsoft word, excel and Outlook 365 (SharePoint)
- Be proficient in the use of iPads and iPhones.
- Be able and willing to handle biological specimens
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite testing for drugs of abuse - urine, oral fluid, hair specimens.
- Perform onsite breath testing for alcohol
- Maintain chain of custody of samples and detailed records of all visits
- Scan all documents to the support office promptly
- Ensure the timely transport of samples after collection
- Communicate effectively with Management
