The Opportunity:

As a Medical Secretary at Icon Cancer Centre Chermside, you'll take on a fulfilling and diverse role, balancing secretarial support for our specialists and medical administration duties at our oncology day hospital.

Your Day-to-Day
As part of the team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our day hospital. Your responsibilities will include:

Welcoming patients, collecting details, and completing admission paperwork.
Scheduling appointments and preparing consult rooms for clinical sessions.
Assisting patients with financial processes, including invoicing, billing, and health fund checks.
Monitoring patient care pathways and ensuring excellent communication throughout their journey.
Supporting general administrative tasks, including correspondence, discharge procedures, and telephone inquiries.

About You
We’re looking for someone with:

Experience in day oncology/haematology or a similar inpatient setting (advantageous).
Knowledge of Medicare, DVA, and private health insurance processes.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
A proactive, personable, and enthusiastic attitude.
A basic understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in Word and Excel.
