Findex is seeking a talented and motivated Accountant or Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory team in Tenterfield, NSW. Your role, your contribution!
- Prepare tax returns, financial statements, business advice statements, and reconciliations for a diverse client base including companies, partnerships, trusts, and individual businesses across agriculture, retail, civil, and mining industries.
- Ensure all client work meets technical standards and is delivered within agreed timeframes and budgets, maintaining Findex Group compliance requirements.
- Liaise with the ATO and other government bodies on behalf of clients and assist with general bookkeeping duties.
- Maintain and grow your technical knowledge to stay current with statutory and regulatory requirements, leveraging Findex's leading cloud-based technology stack.
At Senior Accountant level: provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to junior team members — reviewing work, delegating tasks, and setting clear goals to support team capability.

What you bring to the role:
- A degree qualification in accounting or a related discipline, completed CA or CPA or working towards
- Solid public practice experience preparing tax returns, financial statements, and compliance documentation across a variety of entity types including companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Confident communication skills and a proactive, client-focused mindset — comfortable liaising with clients, the ATO, and other government bodies.
- A positive, professional attitude with a collaborative spirit and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all client matters.
Experience with or enthusiasm for cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero experience highly regarded), and a genuine interest in working within a technologically progressive firm.
