Full Job Description

Launceston sits in a sweet spot most Australian cities can't offer — a genuine regional lifestyle with the clinical depth of a proper city practice behind it. This is a permanent role with an established Launceston private practice for a Speech Pathologist to join a settled, well-supported team.

About the role: General private-practice caseload with flexibility on where you focus — the practice sees both paediatric and adult clients and will shape the mix around your clinical interests. Paediatric work spans early language, school-age, literacy, articulation, AAC and feeding; adult work covers post-stroke communication, voice, cognitive-communication and adult NDIS.

Permanent full-time or part-time (4-day weeks and school-hours arrangements welcome)
Clinic-based sessions with some community, school and telehealth work
Realistic caseload agreed with your clinical lead — not driven by billable-hour targets
Full admin, scheduling and billing support so your day stays clinical
Structured supervision, peer case discussion and a genuine PD culture
Access to a strong local MDT network (paediatricians, OTs, psychologists) for cross-referral and joint care

Salary $80,000–$115,000 + super, benchmarked to experience

About you:

AHPRA registration as a Speech Pathologist (new graduates through senior clinicians all considered)
Australian work rights
Interest in general private practice — comfortable across assessment and intervention
A current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or willingness to obtain
An interest in Launceston as a place to actually live, not just work

Cataract Gorge is a fifteen-minute walk from the city centre, the Tamar Valley wine region is on your doorstep, and Cradle Mountain is a comfortable weekend drive away. The food scene punches well above the city's size — Harvest Market on Saturdays, a serious cafe culture, and some of the best regional restaurants in the country.
