About the opportunity:
The Compliance and Council Manager is part of the Wilson Homes Compliance team and reports to the Operations Manager. The key focus of this role is to drive timely, accurate council approvals by ensuring all plans meet compliance requirements and progress smoothly from sales through to construction.
More specifically, you will:
- Conduct compliance checks on sales files to identify planning requirements, overlays, and risks early
- Review draft plans and provide advice to Sales on siting feasibility, council regulations, and covenants
- Manage and submit council planning and plumbing applications within strict timeframes
- Achieve key KPIs including turnaround times and monthly submission targets
- Collaborate with Sales, Drafting, and Construction teams to resolve issues and progress applications
- Continuously work towards improving processes by collaborating with relevant departments and external stakeholders
- Lead and support the Approvals Coordinator while driving continuous process improvements and compliance outcomes
About you:
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will:
- Experience in a similar planning, compliance, or approvals role
- Strong understanding of Tasmanian Planning Schemes and Local Provisions
- Solid knowledge of NCC requirements across building and plumbing
- Ability to interpret plans, regulations, and council requirements with a high level of accuracy
- Detail-oriented with strong organisation and time management skills
- Forward-thinking and solutions-focused, with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments.
