The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT), as part of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Executive Coordination Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting executive decision-making and coordinating high-quality briefings and advice.
This is a targeted role under GSE Rule 26 and Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.
About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and strategic professional to join the Office of the Chief Executive as a Senior Executive Coordination Officer. In this pivotal role, you will support the Chief Executive Officer by coordinating high-quality briefings, correspondence and executive requests, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent advice. You will also provide high-level project and advisory support across initiatives aligned with executive priorities, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver high-quality outcomes. This role operates as a trusted point of contact for the Office of the Chief Executive and requires strong judgement, discretion and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues.
What you will be doing
- Preparing and quality assuring high-level briefing materials, submissions and correspondence
- Coordinating executive requests and ensuring timely, informed responses
- Providing clear, evidence-based advice to support decision-making
- Managing and prioritising issues, risks and emerging matters in a fast-paced environment
- Leading or supporting projects aligned with executive priorities
- Building strong relationships across the with key stakeholders
About You
You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of government processes or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge. You bring:
- Excellent written and communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level materials
- Strong judgement and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Experience in policy, public administration, or executive support environments
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to high-quality outcomes
Essential Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated experience in public administration, business, policy or a related discipline.

The New South Wales Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) is a not-for-profit statutory body, established under Part 10 of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and managed by a Board appointed by the Minister for the Environment.
The Trust’s roles are to support and encourage landholders to enter into agreements to conserve and protect biodiversity on private land, guided by the government’s Biodiversity Conservation Investment Strategy; secure biodiversity offsets when developers choose to pay into the Biodiversity Conservation Fund; and other activities that promote greater awareness of, appreciation and understanding of, biodiversity and the importance of conserving it.
We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) and the BCT’s private land conservation (PLC) programs
The successful applicant for this role will be required to declare any conflict of interests related to the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, as defined in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme Conflict of Interests Protocol. This ensures the department is made aware of potential conflicts of interest so they can be appropriately managed.
Where an applicant has a high-risk “defined interest” in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, they may be required to divest this interest before being employed by the department.
