Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Data Business Analyst to support a large-scale cloud data migration and modernisation program. Working closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Solution Architects and delivery teams, you will play a key role in translating business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring data is accurately migrated, transformed and validated.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology and has experience delivering complex data transformation initiatives within cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities

Engage with business and technical stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements.

Analyse legacy data sources and define future-state data requirements.

Produce source-to-target mapping documentation and data transformation rules.

Document business processes, data flows and data lineage.

Work closely with Data Engineers and Architects to support cloud migration activities.

Perform data profiling, data quality analysis and reconciliation activities.

Support solution design workshops and facilitate requirements sessions.

Assist with test planning, data validation, UAT and defect management.

Produce high-quality documentation including user stories, process maps, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

Work within Agile delivery teams using Jira and Confluence.
Qualifications
-
Demonstrated experience as a Technical Business Analyst on enterprise Data or Cloud transformation programs.

Strong understanding of data migration and modernisation projects.

Experience producing source-to-target mapping (STTM) documentation.

Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.

Experience with data modelling concepts and relational databases.

Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.

Experience working within AWS data environments (S3, Glue, Redshift, RDS) or similar cloud platforms.

Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Nice to Have

Experience with AWS data services.

Exposure to Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms.

Knowledge of data governance, metadata and data quality frameworks.

Experience with API integrations.

Telecommunications or large enterprise experience.
