As part of the Research Ethics and Governance Office (REGO), you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality research that improves patient outcomes and advances healthcare across New South Wales.

Working alongside experienced research governance and ethics professionals, you will contribute to a collaborative, values-driven environment that supports continuous learning, innovation and professional growth.

What you'll be doing
As the Human Research Ethics Officer, you will support the Research Ethics and Governance Office Manager and Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) Executive Officer in coordinating the ethical review and governance processes for research conducted across the district.

You will provide expert administrative and operational support while ensuring compliance with national ethical standards, legislative requirements and NSW Health policies.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating the administrative activities of the HREC, HREC Sub-Committee, Executive Committee and Scientific Advisory Committee, including agendas, minutes and correspondence
Providing advice and guidance to researchers regarding ethics and governance submissions, regulatory requirements and approval processes
Reviewing research applications and supporting ethics and governance workflows, including amendments, annual reports and safety reporting
Managing records and systems including REGIS, databases, research reports and governance documentation
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, policy development and stakeholder education in research ethics and governance

Extensive experience as an executive assistant/personal assistant with proven strong administrative and time management skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working. relationships including those with senior management and other key internal and external stakeholders.
