Madison’s Mountain Retreat

Accountant

NSW

Immediate Start

We are looking for an efficient, accurate, capable and co-operative person who shows initiative and insight to manage the finance function for Madison's Mountain Retreat, associated businesses and investments within our group.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a permanent full time position in a small office located in Bondi Junction with regular travel to our Alpaca Farmstay in regional NSW.

Role

Process accounts receivable and payable transactions into accounting software in Reckon and MYOB
Update balance sheet and P&L
Process accounting entries as directed, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and commentary around variances
Preparation of reports and lodgement of BAS / IAS
Preparing financial statement templates and supporting documentation for review/audit by external accountants or board of management
Liaise with external accountants as required
Fortnightly processing of payroll
Fortnightly processing of payments to contractors, including performing relevant checks
Ensure compliance with all payroll related legislative requirements, including superannuation, PAYG, and STP lodgements
Bank and credit card reconciliation, processing transactions into MYOB and Reckon and storing soft copies of all invoices and receipts
Provide support to external accountant with Adjusting Journal Entries and financial statement reconciliation
Reconciling accounts; while extracting the data from cash summary reports, detail trial balance
Maintaining loan spreadsheets
Updating documentation and preparing routine invoices, letters and statements (rental)
Online shopping for hard to find or complex items and reporting findings
Stay updated with accounting regulations and company policies
Updating animal movement database

· Annual market comparisons of insurance and utilities throughout our portfolio

Essential Criteria

CA/CPA qualified or with relevant degree
Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant
Experience in and knowledge of agritourism industry essential
Experience in accommodation reservation programs and relief management
Knowledge about online services, such as the ATO portal, ABN lookup, STP and superannuation lodgements
High degree of computer literacy
Advanced skill in excel VLOOKUP, Pivot table and aptitude across Microsoft Office Suite, including Access database
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in English
High attention to detail
Must be able to work full time in Australia
Must be literate in accounting software MYOB and Reckon
Must be able to start immediately
