As a part of our Civil Works and Presentation Division, you will play a vital role in maintaining civil assets and ensuring safety standards are met in all operations. Your contributions will help us achieve our strategic intent of delivering exceptional service to our community.

About The Role

The Driver / Operator position is essential for the effective execution of construction and maintenance projects. You will operate heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment while performing various labouring duties as required. This role is under the guidance of Construction and Maintenance Forepersons and the Plant Allocator, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include conducting pre-start safety checks, reporting equipment issues, and adhering to legal and safety regulations. You will also be required to assist with loading trucks and maintain equipment cleanliness and security.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a proactive individual who is willing to learn and adapt to new challenges. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Essential: Class MR Licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card), Load Shifting Plant Operator competency, Traffic Control Ticket / License
Desirable: Experience operating large plant such as a front-end loader, crane truck, etc. Class HR Licence
Essential: Previous experience as a plant operator and truck driver
Desirable: Familiarity with Council’s vehicle accident procedures and experience in manual tasks within the construction industry

This role requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. You will be expected to demonstrate respect and professionalism in all interactions.

Package: From $67,397 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
Hours of work: Permanent full-time, 38 hours per week, 9 day fortnight. There are currently 2 positions available.
