Position Title: Environmental Scientific Consultant
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Environmental Assessment & Risk Management
· Conduct environmental investigations, assessment and audits relating to indoor environmental quality (IAQ/IEQ), air quality, water quality and contamination risks.
· Identify, evaluate and manage environmental hazards including chemicals, asbestos, radioactive materials and other hazardous substances.
· Undertake environmental risk assessment and develop mitigation and remediation strategies for contaminated or complex sites.
· Perform site inspections and environmental audits to assess compliance with environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Environmental Monitoring, Testing & Analysis
· Design and implement environmental monitoring programs, including air quality testing, microbiological analysis and emissions assessment.
· Analyse environmental data and laboratory results to identify trends, risks and compliance issues.
· Conduct testing and verification in accordance with recognized standards such as WELL Building Standard, NABERS and Green Star.
· Evaluate environmental performance of building materials and infrastructure systems.
Regulatory Compliance & Advisory
· Advise clients on environmental legislation, regulations and industry standards, including sustainability frameworks and environmental compliance obligations.
· Interpret and apply relevant environmental laws, codes and guidelines to ensure project and operational compliance.
· Provide strategic environmental advice to support planning, design and operational decision making.
Environmental Reporting & Recommendations
· Prepare details technical reports, environmental assessments and audit documentation outlining findings, risks and recommendations.
· Develop practical and evidence-based solutions to mitigate environmental impacts and improve environmental performance.
· Present findings and recommendation to clients, stakeholders and management.
Sustainability & Environmental Performance
· Provide consulting services in sustainability, including energy efficiency, water management, waste reduction and environmental performance improvement.
· Conduct NABERS assessments across Indoor Environment, Energy, Water and Waste.
· Support Green Star certification processes, including building air tightness testing and energy performance assessments.
· Undertake WELL Building Standard testing and performance verification.
Project Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
· Provide environmental input into the design and development of complex facilities, including laboratories, healthcare facilities and commercial buildings.
· Liaise with clients, project teams, contractors and regulatory authorities on environmental matters.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project delivery.
Specialist Environmental Consultant Services
· Provide consultancy services in indoor environmental quality and occupant health, wellbeing and productivity.
· Conduct microbiological and environmental testing related to hydraulic infrastructure and the built environment.
· Support environmental evaluation of materials, including emissions.

· Specialist design support and risk evaluation for new and complex facilities, including laboratories and hospitals.
· Microbiology testing and consulting services, including using advanced methods to evaluate risks associated with hydraulic infrastructure and the build environment.
· CETEC conducts measurement of emissions from building materials and other laboratory testing of materials.
· Materials Science; polymers, corrosion and product development.
Experience: Bachelor Degree related to Environmental Science and at least 2 years of experience in the Scientific Environmental Professional Consulting.
