Perpetual Group is an ASX-listed company (ASX:PPT) headquartered in Sydney, Australia, currently consisting of 11 leading brands across three distinct businesses: Asset Management, Wealth Management and Corporate Trust.

About the Role

As the Investment Director – Asset Consulting & ESG you will partner with Perpetual Wealth’s financial advisers to translate the Perpetual Private Investment Research and Direct Equities investment approach into advice for the Not-for-Profit sector and other sophisticated client segments requiring an investment-led proposition, across the Private Wealth business. As a member of the investment team, you’ll also support the integration and on-going management of the team’s ESG Investment and Responsible Investment (RI) activities, particularly as they relate to Perpetual Wealth’s Direct Equities RI portfolio, and discretionary multi-manager portfolios.

You’ll:

In partnership with financial advisers, lead asset consulting engagements, helping clients with their investment policy statement, investment objectives, asset allocation, investment strategy, manager selection, and performance monitoring.
Advise key internal and external client relationships, presenting directly to boards and investment committees, and partnering closely with advisers to support new business, tenders, and long‑term client retention.
Play a key role in ESG and Responsible Investment decisions, including oversight of ESG screening for direct Australian equities, engagement with companies on ESG matters, and ownership of and integration of ESG / RI practices into multi‑manager portfolios.
Produce high‑quality investment content, including research/thought leadership papers, client presentations, tender/RFP material, adviser tools, and thought leadership for clients and the broader market.
Act as a subject matter expert and ambassador for Perpetual, representing the business at client events, conferences and industry forums, and supporting advisers with complex investment and portfolio queries.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

An appropriate undergraduate degree (commerce, economics, business, finance or other technical area of study e.g. science) and attainment of or significant progress toward relevant investment post-graduate qualifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA, MBA, MAppFin).
RG146 accredited.
7+ years’ experience in investment related roles.
Sales or client experience, preferably in an advice environment.
Strong understanding of portfolio theory, and the range of investment markets and financial instruments.
Proven capability in ESG and Responsible Investment frameworks, or a strong interest and aptitude to lead in this space.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information for diverse audiences.
A client‑centric mindset, strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
