Permanent fulltime opportunity
Monday to Friday 5am - 1:30pm or 6am - 2:30pm shifts with regular overtime opportunities (Overtime penalties + Meal Allowance)
$42.41 per hour plus 12% Superannuation
We supply and maintain the vehicles!

Help us deliver like never before

As a 'Relief Postie' based at our Strathfield Facility you will be operating and delivering on all modes of transport including Motorcycle, Electric Vehicle, Walking, and Electric Push Bike. This is a unique and rare opportunity for anyone who is agile and looking to take the next step in their career and love a good challenge.

You will be responsible for working on different routes and modes of transport every day to cover other drivers on leave. These routes cover all of our Strathfield and Rydalmere catchment areas.

We are looking for 5 x skilled motorcyclists' who are resilient, safety conscious, confident and motivated individual to join and support your local communities and ensure our letters and parcels are delivered on time.

You'll be

Starting your day early in the morning at 5am sorting both mail and small parcels.

Responsible to cover and deliver to multiple rounds with no two days are alike!
Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.
Loading your vehicle with your deliveries for the day.
Delivering outdoors in all types of weather to deliver to homes and businesses.
Paired up with our experienced Rider Mentors, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development.

About you

You hold a full or probationary motorcycle licence.
Experience and/or knowledge working within the courier/delivery industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
You're resilient and able to adapt to high volume and pressure.
You're flexible with working additional hours if required.
You’ll successfully pass our mandatory and practical riding assessment.
You have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift upto 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly.
You'll need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 100kgs or less.

The salary for this role is $70,703 plus + 15% shift penalty equating to $42.41/h + 12% superannuation

Training and Support

At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
