MAETEL ASIA PACIFIC PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to join our team.

This role is ideal for a professional with solid experience in the construction industry, strong financial and analytical skills, and the ability to work in an international business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations
Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management
Prepare BAS, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Coordinate with external accountants and auditors
Maintain accurate general ledger records
Monitor project costing, budgeting, and financial performance
Support contract administration and subcontractor payment processes
Assist with forecasting and financial analysis
Liaise regularly with Head Office in Spain regarding reporting and financial matters
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and company procedures
Maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience as an Accountant within the construction industry is essential
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Strong understanding of Australian accounting and tax requirements
Experience using:
Microsoft Navision
Xero
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills
Spanish language skills are highly preferred due to regular communication with Head Office in Spain
