Senior Manager, Projects – NSW Trustee and Guardian

Temporary Full time up to 24 months. 35 hours per week.

Location: Sydney. Flexible and hybrid working options available.

Clerk Grade: Level 11/12. Base salary $149,739 p.a. to $173,174 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading.

The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

About the team

The People and Culture Division plays a critical role in enabling organisational performance by supporting the full employee lifecycle and fostering a positive, inclusive and high performing workplace. The division partners closely with leaders and teams to build capability, strengthen culture and ensure people practices are contemporary, compliant, and aligned to organisational priorities.

About the role

The Senior Manager, Projects will lead the strategic planning, governance and delivery of divisional programs and projects across the People and Culture function at NSW Trustee and Guardian. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the role is responsible for driving projects that improve processes, service delivery, governance frameworks and operational performance.

You will oversee complex, cross‑functional initiatives, establish fit‑for‑purpose governance and reporting, and provide high‑quality advice, briefings and insights to senior leaders and executives. The role plays a key part in enabling evidence‑based decision‑making, continuous improvement and the effective delivery of People and Culture priorities aligned to organisational and government objectives.

About you

You are a senior project and program leader with strong experience delivering complex initiatives in HR, corporate or similarly regulated environments. You bring a structured, outcomes‑focused approach to project management, with the ability to balance competing priorities, manage risk and deliver high‑quality results in dynamic settings.

You are confident working with executives and senior stakeholders, translating complex information into clear advice, reports and recommendations. You have experience improving business processes, governance and performance reporting, and are comfortable leading teams, coordinating resources and engaging external suppliers where required.

You will have:

Significant experience leading strategic programs and projects in complex organisations

Strong project governance, reporting and performance analysis capability

Proven experience influencing and advising senior executives and stakeholders

Experience leading teams and delivering continuous improvement initiative

Essential requirements

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
