## Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our organisation and support strategic decision-making at the highest level. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and long-range financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capability, a thorough understanding of Australian financial regulations, and a proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights. ## Key Responsibilities
- Determine, implement, monitor, and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies, policies, and plans in close consultation with senior management and operational teams
- Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial reports — including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and forward-looking financial forecasts — to support executive decision-making
- Provide timely and meaningful financial information to key stakeholders, interpreting performance trends and identifying implications for business strategy, funding needs, and operational efficiency
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity across all financial functions
- Oversee the preparation of long-range profit forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic objectives

- Advise senior leadership on investment strategies, sources of funding, and the appropriate distribution of earnings in line with organisational goals
- Ensure full compliance with Australian financial legislation, taxation obligations, accounting standards (including AASB), and corporate governance requirements
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and high performance
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies, coordinating audit processes and ensuring timely, accurate statutory reporting
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity positions, and working capital requirements, implementing strategies to optimise the organisation's financial health
- Partner cross-functionally with business units to provide financial guidance, support commercial negotiations, and drive profitability outcomes

- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial management or a senior accounting role
- Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, financial modelling, and management reporting
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AASB), taxation legislation, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. MYOB, Xero, SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience in coaching and developing finance professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage and influence at the executive level
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgement in managing sensitive financial information
