We're looking for a Senior Account Executive to join Burson, supporting a portfolio of corporate clients and delivering integrated communications programs that drive real impact.
As a Senior Account Executive, you will take greater ownership of day-to-day client activity, partnering closely with Account Managers and Client Leads to deliver high-quality communications programs, manage stakeholder relationships and drive strong client outcomes.
Working across earned, paid and social channels, you'll support the delivery of integrated campaigns while helping strengthen how paid and social are used to amplify corporate narratives, build engagement and drive performance. You'll build your expertise across corporate communications, media engagement, influencer relations and content development while bringing a digital-first mindset to campaign delivery.
You will be expected to manage workstreams with increasing independence, contribute confidently to client discussions, build strong media and stakeholder relationships and support the development of more junior team members. You'll be proactive, solutions-focused and passionate about identifying opportunities that help clients achieve their communications objectives.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role with strong exposure across corporate communications, offering the opportunity to take on more responsibility and continue growing your skillset across integrated campaigns, strategic communications and client leadership.
- Support Client Leads in the planning and execution of communications programs, maintaining awareness of client objectives, scope of work and key performance indicators.
- Support the day-to-day management of client accounts, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, contributing confidently to meetings and identifying opportunities to add value.
- Act as a reliable day-to-day client contact, ensuring timely communication and continuity of service when senior team members are unavailable.
- Anticipate potential client, campaign or project challenges and work with Client Leads to proactively identify solutions.
- Develop high-quality content including media releases, pitches, social content, thought leadership, briefing notes, reports and campaign materials.
- Develop a strong network of media and influencer contacts, proactively building and nurturing relationships that support client outcomes.
- Stay informed on developments across media, digital and influencer landscapes, identifying opportunities and implications for client programs.
- Identify opportunities for media coverage, partnerships, influencer engagement and integrated communications activity that support client goals.
- Use proprietary AI tools to support drafting, research and content production, improving efficiency and quality.
- Apply AI-assisted approaches to media monitoring, social listening and reporting tasks.
- Maintain a strong understanding of clients' businesses, industries, competitors and communications objectives, bringing relevant ideas and recommendations to client teams.
- Support the delivery of integrated campaigns across earned, paid and social channels.
- Coordinate campaign execution including events, activations, influencer programs, media engagement activity and content rollouts.
- Support paid and social activity, helping shape briefs, coordinate delivery and track performance against agreed objectives.
- Apply a digital and performance mindset, understanding how earned, paid and social channels work together to amplify communications outcomes.
- Track, analyse and report on campaign performance, ensuring outputs are accurate, insightful and action-oriented.
- Monitor campaign and content performance, contributing recommendations that strengthen future activity and improve results.
- Assist with campaign coordination across clients, suppliers, media partners and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Take ownership of specific client workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.
- Manage timelines, deliverables and account administration with strong attention to detail.
- Maintain accurate trackers, reporting documents, media lists, campaign records and account administration to support effective client management.
- Support budget management, supplier coordination, forecasting and project administration, ensuring compliance with agency policies and processes.
- Assist with briefing and coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
- Contribute to the development of scopes of work, project plans and client reporting where appropriate.
- Ensure agency systems, documentation and account records are maintained accurately and consistently.
- Complete timesheets and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
- Support, coach and share knowledge with Account Executives, interns and new team members to help build capability across the team.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to junior team members, providing guidance and oversight where required.
- Contribute ideas and insights to brainstorms, planning sessions and new business opportunities.
- Contribute ideas, research and content to new business opportunities, pitches and agency growth initiatives.
- Build relationships across Burson and the broader WPP network, contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning and shared expertise.
- Share relevant industry, media and communications insights with colleagues to support team development and client outcomes.
- Participate in training, professional development and agency initiatives.

- 3+ years' experience in corporate communications, public relations or a related agency environment.
- Experience delivering integrated communications campaigns across earned, paid and social channels.
- Strong writing skills across media, stakeholder and digital content.
- Understanding of how integrated campaigns come together across earned, paid and social communications.
- Strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and evolving communications environment.
- Experience building media and stakeholder relationships and pitching stories confidently.
- Experience using media monitoring, media database and reporting platforms is advantageous.
- Comfortable using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency and campaign delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how communications activity contributes to client and business outcomes.
