Access Aged Care is seeking a dedicated VR General Practitioner to join our team in a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) capacity, providing on-site clinical care to residents within Residential Aged Care Homes across a range of regional locations throughout Australia.
This role offers the opportunity to practise better medicine within a structured and well-supported aged care model. With dedicated nursing coordination, streamlined systems and timely specialist input, GPs are supported to deliver proactive, relationship-based care - with more time focused on residents and less time lost to fragmented administration.
You will work with a consistent cohort of residents, allowing you to provide proactive, relationship-based care and build meaningful clinical relationships over time.
Working alongside Access Aged Care Nurses, telehealth geriatricians, physicians and experienced administrative support staff, you will provide person-centred care to older Australians while enjoying flexibility and variety in your working arrangements.

Competitive Daily Rates: Starting from $2,000 per day depending on experience, with rates increasing for GPs with aged care or geriatric expertise.

Travel Taken Care Of: Flights and accommodation arranged and covered for every clinical stint, with flexible FIFO schedules designed around your availability.

Dedicated Nursing Support: Work alongside an Access Aged Care Nurse who supports your rounds and follow-up care, allowing you to focus on clinical decision-making rather than coordination and administration.

Multidisciplinary Expertise: Collaborate with telehealth geriatricians, physicians and other specialists when additional support is required.

Less Paperwork, Better Medicine: Shared clinical records, streamlined systems and dedicated practice support reduce administration and coordination, allowing you to spend more time focused on resident care.

The Ability to Genuinely Switch Off: Work from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and know your personal time is protected, with no after-hours or weekend work and no on-call requirements.

FIFO Arrangements That Work Around You: Choose regular blocks of two to five consecutive days on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on the needs of each location and your availability.

Purpose, Variety and Regional Experience: Make a tangible difference to older Australians while working across diverse regional communities.

Availability: Capacity to commit to FIFO blocks of 2-5 consecutive days on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

AHPRA Registration: Specialist registration (no conditions).

Fellowship: RACGP or ACRRM Fellowship required.

Tech: Comfortable with system-based reporting and familiar with common clinical software.
