What you'll be doing

The Sleep Medicine Department, together with our Respiratory Support Services, supports diagnostic and treatment facilities to infants, children and adolescents with sleep associated and chronic respiratory disorders. The Sleep Technologists’ role includes preparation and supervision of children, for and during sleep studies. The Technologist will be responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of high quality, digital physiological signals. The role may include sleep study analysis, routine maintenance and restocking of equipment. Working collaboratively with other members of the RSS they will ensure efficient and effective service provision.

Biological Technicians Certificate, the Chemistry Certificate, the Nuclear Medicine Technician's Certificate, the Pathology Technicians Certificate, the Pathology Technicians Higher Certificate, the Associate Diploma of Health Sciences (Pathology Techniques) of the Department of Technical and Further Education, the Associate Diploma in Medical Technology awarded by the Riverina CAE or the Associate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science awarded by the Charles Sturt University or such other certificate or course of training as, in the opinion of the employer, is appropriate.’ As well as any nursing qualification.
Advanced computer skills, including data acquisition and analysis
Proven ability to work collaboratively
Effective communication skills
Ability to work a rotating roster (evening and night shift)
Proven ability in problem solving and critical thinking
Previous healthcare and/or hospital based experience
