The role
Our dedicated Facilities Engineers within the Hybrid Cloud Practice provide outstanding technical expertise supporting the day-to-day operations of AC3’s data centre and facilities environments.
This role is critical in ensuring customers receive stable, secure, and continuously improving services across their infrastructure, systems, and operational environments. Working both onsite and remotely, you will support customers and internal teams while contributing to the ongoing improvement of data centre processes, infrastructure management, and operational standards.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Platforms Engineer - Facilities to join our growing Hybrid Cloud Practice. In this hands-on technical role, you will support the day-to-day operations of AC3’s data centre environments, ensuring customers receive stable, secure, and continuously improving infrastructure services.
You will work closely with customers, vendors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain data centre standards, manage infrastructure assets, support provisioning activities, and contribute to operational excellence across our facilities environment.

What you’ll do?
As a Platforms Engineer – Facilities, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining AC3’s data centre environments and infrastructure operations. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality support services while ensuring operational standards, documentation, monitoring, and asset management processes are maintained and continuously improved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in coordinating and managing support activities across AC3 data centre facilities to ensure reliable and high-quality service delivery
- Perform rack, stack, patching, commissioning, and decommissioning activities for customer and internal infrastructure
- Provision cross-connects, cabling, and related infrastructure services while minimising operational delays
- Support data centre maintenance activities to maximise environmental standards, uptime, and availability
- Escort customers, vendors, and contractors within secure data centre environments
- Travel between metro and regional sites as required
- Participate in an after-hours on-call support roster
What we’d love to see?
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with excellent communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
- Experience supporting data centre or critical infrastructure environments
- Experience with rack, stack, patching, and physical infrastructure management
- Experience working within operational support or facilities-related technical environments
- Knowledge of data centre operations, structured cabling, power systems, and environmental infrastructure
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model
- Understanding of data centre lifecycle management and operational best practices
- General knowledge of vendors and technologies commonly used within Managed Services Provider (MSP) or ISP environments
- Australian Drivers Licence (currant)
- Dedicated transport options
Qualifications & Certifications
- Australian Citizenship
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
- ITIL v3 (or above) certification highly regarded
- NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) clearance or ability to obtain one preferred
