Disability Support Worker (Female Only) – Mental Health Experience Required | Swan Hill VIC
We are looking for an experienced female Disability Support Worker to support a middle-aged male participant based in Swan Hill.
This role is best suited to someone who has strong experience in mental health and can provide a calm, supportive, and professional approach while promoting independence.
About the Participant:
The participant is a middle-aged man with a history of mental health. He is relatively independent but requires consistent support to maintain his wellbeing, routine, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community access support (outings, shopping, appointments)
- Meal preparation and support with maintaining a healthy routine
- Light domestic duties (cleaning, general household upkeep)
- Transport to activities and appointments
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging independence while offering appropriate guidance
Essential Requirements:
- Female candidate (genuine occupational requirement)
- Extensive experience supporting individuals with mental health
- Relevant qualifications in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services, or similar
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow care/support plans
Desirable:
- Experience working with NDIS participants
- Understanding of recovery-oriented and person-centred approaches
