Panel Beater
BusBiz is one of Regional Victoria’s largest bus and coach operators, employing over 300 staff and operating a fleet of more than 270 vehicles. We are currently seeking a qualified Panel Beater to join our workshop team in a full-time permanent position. This role will work under the supervision of the National Fleet Maintenance Manager and Swan Hill Workshop Manager and alongside our experienced maintenance team to ensure our fleet remains safe, roadworthy and presented to a high standard.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out panel repairs, maintenance and body work across our fleet of buses, coaches and other vehicles. The role may also require occasional travel to assist with maintenance activities at remote depots.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on buses, coaches, trailers, cars and workshop equipment
- Ensure all repair work meets safety and roadworthiness standards
- Diagnose, investigate and repair vehicle defects reported by drivers
- Remove and repair damaged panels and components
- Straighten damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment
- Replace damaged panels and body sections where required
- Fill, grind and sand repaired surfaces to restore vehicle condition
- Cut and join replacement sections using welding equipment
- Refit body hardware including trims, locks and accessories
- Carry out spray painting and finishing work where required
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and accreditation standards
- Liaise with operations staff regarding vehicle availability and maintenance scheduling
- Comply with all WHS policies, procedures and safety requirements
- Attend breakdowns or vehicle retrievals when required
- Participate in training and staff meetings as required
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Panel Beater or relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience repairing vehicle bodies and panels
- Experience using mechanical, hydraulic and welding equipment for vehicle repairs
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with staff across different departments
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand for extended periods
- Lift items up to 20kg
- Bend, crouch and kneel when working on vehicles
- Work with arms above shoulder height when required

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
