You will:
- Be accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations.
- Exhibit culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions.
- Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
- Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
- Be driven by a deep, authentic love for cooking and hospitality, with a relentless commitment to creating extraordinary dining experiences that leave a lasting impression on every guest.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring culinary standards and responsibilities are met:
- Manages kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures
- Provides direction for all day-to-day operations
- Develops, designs or creates new applications, ideas, relationships, system or products including artistic contributions
- Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
- Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
Maintaining Goals for Culinary Function and Activities
- Implements guidelines and control procedures for purchasing and receiving areas
- Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedures codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety.
- Manages department controllable expenses including food costs, supplies, uniforms and equipment
Leading Kitchen Operations
- Leads shifts while personally preparing food and executing requests based on required specifications
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviour
- Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job description for each position
