PAY RATE
$25 to $34 per time slot, based on age group and badge level
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
Umpire Development
- Train/upskill all unbadged and C badged umpires
- Provide feedback (verbal and written) to training umpire during and at the completion of the game.
- Provide feedback to the Umpire Co-ordinator of each training umpires performance at the completion of game
- Complete assessments of umpires for badging (refer to Manningham Netball Umpire Processes and Procedures manual for minimum expectations)
- Participate as necessary on Umpire Test Panels
- Attend and assist with ‘Rules & Actions’ workshops for wet days and any other planned days
- Assist in the ‘Welcome Meeting’ with all umpires prior to season start
- Umpire (as required) to cover last minute umpire shortages
Manningham Netball Competitions
- Oversee umpire standards pertaining to equipment, dress code, attitude and development
- Ensure safety of umpires and on court players
General
- Maintain positive & inclusive culture at Manningham Netball with respect to umpires, players, coaches / officials, parents and spectators
- Maintain current knowledge of Rules, Policies and Procedures
- Support the Manningham Netball Committee in duties as agreed
- Identify process improvement opportunities to be discussed umpire coordinator
- Participate in performance reviews as requested with Umpire Portfolio Lead
COMPULSORY ATTRIBUTES
- Current umpiring experience
- Minimum C Badge to mentor unbadged umpires
- Minimum B Badge to mentor C badge umpires
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills.
- Positive and enthusiastic leader
- Responsible and well organised.
- Can maintain confidentiality on relevant matters.
- Can effectively support Manningham Netball visions and liaise with Manningham Netball Committee of Management
- Understands, supports and adheres to Association Constitution, Rules and Bylaws, Codes of Conduct, The Rules of Netball, and Netball Victoria Competition Regulations, and Netball Australia Member Protection Policies.
- Understands the position as an important role in the hobby-recreation field, supporting members, officials and volunteers in the sport of netball.
- Working with Children Card if over 18 years
- Has sound knowledge of Victorian Child Safe Standards and their obligations in their roles
