The Opportunity:
Due to sustained growth and a strong forward pipeline of work, Shadforth is seeking Estimators join our Pre-Contracts Team.
Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders across civil infrastructure, subdivisions, bulk earthworks and roadworks projects across Queensland and Northern NSW.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering the chance to continue working on large, complex civil projects while enjoying a lifestyle many professionals relocate for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the pricing and preparation of detailed civil tenders
- Review drawings, scope documents and contracts to develop competitive pricing
- Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure constructability and methodology alignment
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers during tender preparation
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to improving estimating systems
About You:
We are seeking confident and commercially minded civil professionals who can take ownership of estimates and drive outcomes.
You may currently be working as a:
- Estimator
- Project Engineer looking to transition into estimating
- Project Manager with strong pre-contracts exposure
Ideally you will bring:
- Experience pricing civil projects such as subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks or infrastructure
- Strong ability to interpret drawings and develop estimates from first principles
- Experience using estimating or take-off software (Benchmark, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar)
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify cost saving or alternative methodologies
- Experience mentoring junior team members will be highly regarded.
