About the Role
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the organisation’s accounting and financial operations, preparing financial reports, analysing business performance, and providing strategic financial advice to support executive decision-making.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation through effective financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance management, and commercial analysis.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Management Accounting
- Preparing monthly management reports, financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis reports
- Analysing financial performance, operating costs, revenue, and expenditure to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Preparing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans across multiple divisions
- Conducting end-of-month and end-of-year financial reviews and presenting reports to Directors and senior management
- Monitoring financial performance against budgets and recommending corrective actions where required
- Preparing management accounting reports and providing financial insights to support strategic business decisions
Accounting Operations & Compliance
- Maintaining and administering accounting systems, financial records, and internal control systems
- Managing accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate financial processing
- Overseeing payroll processing, superannuation obligations, and compliance with Australian taxation and employment legislation
- Preparing and reviewing BAS, taxation reports, and other statutory compliance obligations
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and coordinating external audit requirements
- Liaising with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities as required
- Monitoring cash flow, working capital requirements, and financial risk management activities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements
Commercial Analysis & Strategic Support
- Providing commercial and financial advice to Directors and senior management to support business growth and operational performance
- Supporting pricing reviews, profitability analysis, margin reporting, and financial modelling for new projects and business initiatives
- Partnering with operational and sales teams to support sales forecasting, scenario analysis, and business case evaluations
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and internal processes
- Assisting with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and reporting improvements
Leadership & Team Development
- Supporting the ongoing development of the finance function and finance team capabilities
- Contributing to a collaborative, high-performing, and values-driven workplace culture
- Assisting with training, mentoring, and supervision of finance administration staff as required
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification (or working towards completion) highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, payroll, and compliance requirements
- Experience preparing management reports and analysing financial performance
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a dynamic business environment
- Experience working within privately owned or medium-sized businesses will be highly regarded

Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
