Job Summary
Edge is seeking an experienced Teacher / Facilitator to deliver our established employment readiness program for secondary school students with disability. We are particularly interested in applicants with a background in secondary education, and experienced secondary teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is not an entry-level training role. We are looking for a confident and experienced educator who can engage young people, manage a classroom independently and bring sound professional judgement to a dynamic learning environment.
This is a part-time position working three days per week across our Subiaco and Joondalup locations.
Key Responsibilities:
You will:
- Deliver engaging classroom-based workshops to students from Years 10–12.
- Facilitate learning in small classes of up to 15 participants.
- Create positive, inclusive and engaging learning environments.
- Support students to build confidence, workplace readiness and practical life skills.
- Adapt delivery to suit varying learning styles and support needs.
- Build positive relationships with schools and other stakeholders.
- Maintain participant records and progress documentation.
- Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of the program.
The program content is already developed, allowing you to focus on what great educators do best: engaging students, building relationships and supporting meaningful outcomes.
About You
You are a seasoned educator who brings confidence, sound judgement and a calm presence to the classroom. You can quickly build rapport with young people while maintaining clear expectations and positive learning environments. You are comfortable working autonomously, adapting your approach to meet diverse learning needs and supporting students with varying abilities and support requirements.
You will bring:
- Significant experience working with secondary school-aged students.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience supporting young people with disability, including those with behavioural support needs.
- The ability to adapt learning activities to suit individual students and groups.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A university teaching qualification is strongly preferred. Applicants with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or higher), together with substantial experience working with secondary school-aged students, are also encouraged to apply.
- A current WA Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- A current National Police Clearance (issued within the last six months).
- A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
