About the Role:
Community mental health in Adelaide's north is meaningful, challenging work — and the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the North East Community Mental Health team at Modbury Adult Service. This is a part-time, fixed-term contract through to 31 January 2027, offering you the opportunity to deliver real impact for adults living with complex mental health needs in their own communities.
What You'll Be Doing
Embedded within the NALHN Mental Health Service at Modbury, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support adults experiencing acute and ongoing mental health challenges. Your core responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and developing goal-directed care plans in collaboration with consumers and carers
Delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions focused on functional recovery and community participation
Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical reviews, and coordinated discharge planning
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health standards and the Mental Health Act 2009
What You'll Bring
Qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
Experience working within mental health settings, ideally in a community or outpatient context
Sound understanding of recovery-oriented practice frameworks
Ability to manage a complex caseload with clinical supervision support
Familiarity with SA Health clinical systems and documentation requirements, or demonstrated ability to adapt quickly
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across the northern Adelaide community
To be eligible for this position, you must have an Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
