About the Role
We have a permanent part time opportunity for a pre-admission nurse. You will be part of a great team and have a very rewarding role being the key contact for patients on their surgical journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support, assessment, management and education to individuals to prepare patients for their planned surgery or procedure.
- Treatment/management plans are developed in partnership with consultants, clinical staff and the patient and are documented accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with the key stakeholders in the patient journey to enable forward planning and avoid cancellations and delays in surgery.
Skills & Experience
- AHPRA Registered Nurse
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills underpinned by well-honed problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to quality improvement, clinical risk management and evidence based best practice
- Computer skills and ability to use Office based programs, database systems and patient management system.
- Comprehensive assessment skills including anaesthetic, surgical, medical (including medication), allied health and nursing assessment.
- Extensive experience in perioperative/surgical experience

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2028. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $41.36 - $52.20 per hour.
