Senior Dental Assistant/ Clinical Coordinator (Orthodontics)
Permanent Part-Time |Mon, Tue & Fri | Gordon, Upper North Shore Sydney

The Role
This is a senior position at our Gordon practice, three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), combining chairside assisting, treatment coordination, and day-to-day clinic coordination. It suits an experienced dental assistant ready to own the patient journey from first consult to finished smile, not just support it.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assistance

Assist our specialist orthodontist with procedures, including setting up instruments and materials.
Ensure patients are comfortable before, during, and after their treatment.
Maintain meticulous infection control standards, including sterilisation of instruments and keeping treatment rooms clean and stocked.
Take clinical records, and digital scans.
Build rapport with patients and deliver exceptional patient experience before, during, and after treatment.

Treatment Coordination

Guide new patients through their consultation experience.
Present treatment plans, discuss fees, and walk patients through payment options so they can decide with confidence.
Own the follow-up: staying in touch with patients who aren't ready yet, warmly and without pressure.
Build the kind of rapport that makes patients feel looked after, not sold to.

Clinic Coordination

Keep the clinical day running smoothly: scheduling flow, stock, lab work, and daily operations.
Support and guide our junior team members on clinical standards.
Handle patient calls, emails, and enquiries relating to treatment.

Who You Are

Essential: chairside experience in dental (orthodontics highly regarded), and confidence discussing treatment and fees with patients.
Desirable: treatment coordination experience, radiography certificate, Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting.
Organised and proactive: you see what needs doing and do it.
Warm and patient-focused: you make people feel comfortable and confident, and it shows.
A steady communicator: professional, approachable, and clear, even on busy days.
