Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Outsource Inspector within our Surface Ships team in Osborne, SA. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed. This includes ensuring that quality control processes/standards are maintained whilst supporting the identification and implementation of quality improvement activities.
Core Duties:
- Conduct surveillance and visual inspections to ensure items comply with requirements, codes, standards and specifications
- Manage nonconforming material in accordance with NCR processes to ensure identification, segregation, and reporting
- Support completion of NCR Root Cause Analysis and the implementation of any required corrective and preventive action
- Contribute to assessment, approval, and monitoring of suppliers to support risk-based surveillance
- Support Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with standards, program requirements, and expected outcomes
- Undertake supplier audits, facilitate customer audits, and support corrective actions to ensure ongoing compliance
- Build strong engaging relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining/fostering a positive culture of ownership and collaboration
About You
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Coating Inspector, holding NACE CIP Level 2, or an equivalent qualification (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience Mechanical and Quality discipline(s)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
- Demonstrated Quality Assurance experience in manufacturing, production, engineering, or a related field is desirable
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage and resolve complex quality issues
