Remuneration: $38.51 - $54.94 per hour

About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth)

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking for your next step in the community working across our Penrith and Springwood Community Health Centers. In this role you will work to provide assessment and a range of interventions for children aged up to 8 years, with mild developmental issues or learning difficulties.

This team works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including speech pathology, physiotherapy, counselling and nursing disciplines. The successful candidate will provide paediatric occupational therapy services for children and their families.

You will be able to establish short and long term goals with clients, complete comprehensive assessments and implement treatment plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. Are you ready to bring your skills to a team that values performance and growth?

What you will bring to the role

Clinical experience working with children and their families and an understanding of typical child development.

Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage routine clinical matters with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated clinical experience in occupational therapy practice and the provision of services to a broad range of consumer groups. Level 2 – Post graduate clinical experience demonstrated to the level of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award level 2

Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills.

Demonstrated experience in the use of relevant evidence based practice resources to guide decision making and commitment to quality improvement.

Demonstrated skills in verbal communication with clients/consumers, teams and agencies with experience in clinical documentation and formal reporting.

Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purposes.

Current Authority to Practice as an Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
