About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Vegetable Grower to join our team and support the planning, coordination, and management of vegetable crop production. This role involves both hands-on farming and operational planning to ensure consistent crop yield, quality, and efficiency across our farm.

Key Responsibilities

As a Vegetable Grower on our farm, your duties will include:

Planning and coordinating vegetable crop production from planting through to harvest, ensuring optimal yield and quality.
Managing day-to-day farm operations, including planting schedules, irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
Monitoring crop health and growth stages, identifying and addressing issues such as nutrient deficiencies, pests, and diseases.
Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment used in vegetable production.
Implementing sustainable farming practices and ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards.
Supervising and supporting farm staff in daily activities, providing guidance on best practices and safe work procedures.
Maintaining accurate records of crop inputs, yields, and farm activities.

Requirements

Diploma or higher qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Proven experience in vegetable crop production, including knowledge of planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting techniques.
Strong practical skills in operating farm machinery and equipment.
Understanding of sustainable farming practices and workplace health and safety requirements.
Good communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and ability to work autonomously when required.
