Lyell McEwin Hospital is one of South Australia's busiest public hospitals, and the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is growing to meet the needs of one of the state's fastest-expanding communities. What You'll Be Doing
Working at the heart of the DSSA Division at Lyell McEwin Health Service, you'll provide high-quality administrative and clerical support that keeps the unit running smoothly and allows clinical staff to focus on patient care.
Manage patient administrative processes including admissions, discharges, and medical record coordination
Provide reception and communication support, acting as a key point of contact for patients, families, and clinical teams
Coordinate scheduling, correspondence, and documentation to support divisional operations
Maintain accurate data entry and records in clinical and administrative systems in line with SA Health policy
What You Bring
Demonstrated experience in an administrative or secretarial role, ideally within a health or community services setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn health-specific systems such as EPAS or similar patient management platforms used across SA Health
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and multidisciplinary teams
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, confidentiality obligations and clinical administrative standards within SA Health
Ability to work collaboratively across a diverse team while managing independent workloads

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
