About the Role:
Join our team as a Permanent Part-time Panel Physician, working one day per week every Wednesday.
As a Panel Physician with BMVS, you will play a vital role in delivering visa medical assessments in accordance with the Department of Home Affairs’ health requirements.
You’ll conduct medical evaluations for visa applicants, supported by a skilled clinical and administrative team.

As a Panel Physician, you will:
- Conduct medical assessments of visa applicants in line with Department of Home Affairs protocols and BMVS procedures.
- Review client health history and perform a focused physical examination.
- Review results (X-rays, pathology, and health assessor data) to make a final medical recommendation.
- Complete assessments using a secure electronic platform.
- Provide referral letters when abnormalities are identified, ensuring duty of care and appropriate follow-up.
- Collaborate with Health Assessors, Radiologists, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Contribute to maintaining compliance with all contractual, clinical, and legislative requirements.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, confidentiality, and clinical governance.
- Please note: There is no prescribing, treating, or continuity of care required in this role.
Role Requirements:
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Current General Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High standards of documentation and accuracy when recording medical findings.
- The ability to engage effectively with patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Professionalism, empathy, and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
