TAJ BHULLAR PTY LTD is looking for a reliable and safety focused Cement Truck Driver to join our cement truck operations.
This role is suitable for an experienced heavy vehicle driver who can safely operate a cement mixer truck, transport cement or concrete products to work sites, follow loading and unloading procedures, and maintain accurate delivery records.
About the role
You will drive a heavy cement mixer truck to transport cement or concrete products to construction sites and other delivery locations. The role requires safe vehicle operation, careful positioning of the truck for loading and unloading, regular vehicle checks, compliance with load limits, and professional communication with site staff and customers.
Main duties
- Drive a heavy cement mixer truck to transport cement or concrete products to construction sites and other delivery locations.
- Manoeuvre the vehicle safely into position for loading, unloading and discharge of cement or concrete products.
- Operate truck controls and delivery equipment safely during loading, transport and unloading.
- Observe all safety requirements when loading, transporting and unloading materials.
- Complete regular vehicle checks to ensure the truck is safe, roadworthy and suitable for daily operation.
- Estimate and check load weights to comply with load limits and ensure safe weight distribution.
- Ensure materials are carried securely and protected from loss, contamination or damage during transport.
- Verify delivery documents, check delivery details and obtain confirmation of completed deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle checks, incidents, delays and any issues identified during transport.
- Follow road safety, workplace safety, site access, fatigue management and company operating procedures at all times.
What we are looking for
1. A reliable and responsible driver with experience operating heavy vehicles.
2. Experience driving cement mixer trucks, concrete agitator trucks or similar heavy vehicles is preferred.
3. Good knowledge of safe loading, unloading and site delivery procedures.
4. Ability to complete vehicle checks and identify basic safety or maintenance issues.
5. Ability to follow instructions, delivery schedules and company procedures.
6. Good communication skills when dealing with dispatch, site supervisors, customers and other drivers.
7. Ability to work safely in busy construction, industrial and road environments.
8. Strong attention to detail when checking delivery documents, load requirements and site instructions.
licence and checks
1. Applicants should hold a valid heavy vehicle licence suitable for operating a cement mixer truck.
2. Applicants must have a current driver licence with no suspension.
3. A safe driving history is required.
4. Applicants may be required to provide a National Police Check, traffic history report, licence record, medical fitness evidence and right to work documents.
5. A White Card or construction induction card will be highly regarded where site access is required.
Pay and conditions
This is a full time permanent position. The successful applicant will be paid in accordance with the applicable industrial instrument and employment contract. Overtime, penalty rates, allowances and other entitlements will be paid where applicable.
