Full Job Description

The Soho Hotel Adelaide is a boutique 30 room property in located the city's East End, we pride ourselves on offering a friendly and efficient front desk experience and are looking for a new team member who will be the first point of contact for our guests and, go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations.

Experience in a similar role is essential. The successful candidate must have excellent computer skills and have experience using a property management system as well Microsoft office suite. Experience with the RMS program is highly desirable. Good written and verbal communication skills are also essential to the role as you will be required to respond to guest emails and phone calls. Great knowledge of Adelaide and the surrounding area is also required so that you can assist guests with their travel arrangements, restaurant recommendations and sightseeing trips.

We are looking for someone for a casual or part time role, within operating hours 9am through 9pm, seven days a week. There is some flexibility in which days for the right person.

The role includes front desk, reservations, stock management and working with housekeeping staff to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.

As this role can be responsible for the opening and closing of the hotel and will often work unsupervised, a high level of maturity and experience is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with our management team to ensure KPIs are being met and standards are being upheld.
Take reservations using the hotel reservation system.
Answers inquiries regarding rates and availability.
Check guests in and out, including preparation of guest bills and authorising payments.
Dealing efficiently with day to day billing and guest service queries.
Report anything considered a health and safety hazard.
Using information available, plan and control both the preparation of future shifts and effective communication to the team.
Allocation of all rooms to include, special requests any other requirements as directed.
Reception duty plays a key role in the success of the movement of our guests around the hotel.
Be flexible at all times in order to cover the unexpected needs of the Hotel.
Knows and understands all safety and emergency procedures and how to act upon them.

Understands accident prevention policies.

Good understanding of RMS Property management software (PMS).
Anticipates and intervenes in all incidents of guest dissatisfaction and attempts to satisfy all such guests, within hotel policy.
Able to think outside the box and enjoy problem solving

PREREQUISITES:

Minimum two year of hotel front desk experience, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
