About the Role/s
We are seeking either an Associate Professor or Professor (Teaching and Research) in Health Sciences, with expertise in an area of specialisation relevant to the course, such as Digital Health (desirable).
The Associate Professor is responsible for providing sustained leadership in teaching programs, primarily within Health Sciences. The incumbent will also make an outstanding high quality personal contribution to research and community service, obtaining competitive research grants from outside the University and sustained publications within high quality publications.
Additional Duties include:
Significant leadership role in the College/University and make a significant contribution to leadership at the national and/or international level within Health Sciences.
Provide leadership in inspiring and innovative teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience.
Undertake active leadership in ethical, high quality and innovative research through activities such as scholarship, quality publication, external grant acquisition, mentoring and developing early career researchers, supervision of students undertaking complex WIL, Honours and/or Research Higher Degrees and deliver high quality presentations that aligns with the College areas of research strength and focus.
Provide leadership in college internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes.
The Professor is responsible for providing outstanding teaching using contemporary pedagogy, a range of innovative delivery methods. The incumbent will publish high quality publications in Health Sciences and associated areas nationally and internationally and will obtain external competitive research grants, contributing to growth in Flinders’ research income.
Additional Duties include:
Supervising to completion Flinders research students including doctoral students in Health Sciences and grow the PhD cohort.
Mentoring more junior academic colleagues in the College, especially academic staff in Health Sciences, including co-publishing, co-supervision and co-submission of external competitive grants.
Contributing to or leading research on designated College and/or University themes.
Providing administrative leadership as required including the Health Science Teaching Program or the Research Section of Health Sciences.

About You
You are an accomplished academic leader with a proven record of excellence in tertiary education, demonstrating outstanding teaching expertise and educational leadership within a relevant discipline. You inspire innovation, and support colleagues to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
You bring significant experience in curriculum design, development and review, with a strong understanding of contemporary teaching methodologies and program delivery and have successfully contributed to internal and external accreditation processes.
You have an established international research profile aligned with the College’s strategic research strengths, evidenced by a sustained record of high-quality publications and success in securing competitive external research funding.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
Completion of a PhD, or other relevant and equivalent qualification and/or experience.
Hold and maintain a current membership with a relevant professional association.
Evidence of a distinguished and active track record of teaching expertise in a relevant occupation at tertiary level, including a leadership role in international delivery and /or collaboration
Evidence of innovation in teaching to support students in order to maximise their learning.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop, establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and industry.
Evidence and excellence in Teaching and Research performance in areas associated with digital health (desirable).
