We are seeking an experienced Cellar Lead to join our leadership team at Wynns. This is a pivotal operational leadership role responsible for leading cellar operations while driving safety, quality, productivity and team performance across the winery.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Winemaker / Site Manager, you will provide leadership across cellar operations and play a critical role in ensuring production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
As a visible leader on site, you will manage frontline teams, drive operational excellence and partner closely with winemaking, engineering, maintenance and quality teams to ensure the smooth execution of winery operations.
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across one of Australia's most respected wineries while helping shape a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cellar operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution of production plans while protecting wine quality and operational performance.
- Develop, coach and lead high-performing frontline teams, building capability, accountability and a strong safety-first culture.
- Drive operational excellence through workforce planning, resource optimisation, performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner closely with winemaking, engineering, quality and site leadership teams to deliver production, quality and business objectives.
- Lead site safety, environmental and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support asset reliability, maintenance planning, wastewater and site service operations to maximise operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
About You
You are a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing or production environments. You enjoy leading teams from the front, solving problems and driving results while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
You will bring:
- Leadership experience within winery, food and beverage, manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment.
- Strong understanding of production operations, process execution and team leadership.
- Experience leading frontline operational teams and developing workplace capability.
- Demonstrated success driving safety, quality and continuous improvement outcomes.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience working in seasonal or high-demand operational environments will be highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications in Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Viticulture & Oenology or a related discipline are advantageous.
