Job Title: Factory Foreman
Location: West Gosford
Job Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Factory Foreman. As the Factory Foreman, you are the leader of the factory floor. Working closely with the Production Manager, your core focus is on driving efficiency, maintaining our high-quality standards, and ensuring a safe, productive environment for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance: You are the final set of eyes; you will personally inspect and sign off on all joinery before it is wrapped and moved to the loading bay. It is your responsibility to ensure zero defects, missing hardware, or dimensional errors.
- Production & Workflow Execution: You will drive the factory floor to execute the production schedule set by the Production Manager. You will ensure jobs are completed within allocated timeframes and proactively communicate any imminent delays immediately.
- Active Team Supervision: You will lead from the front, actively managing all factory workers to maximize productivity. This includes ensuring staff commence work immediately at start times and after breaks, and addressing any downtime directly.
- Apprentice Mentorship: We value the development of our apprentices. You will oversee their training, reviewing their work at key stages to teach correct joinery techniques and prevent material wastage from unsupervised errors.
- WHS & Housekeeping: You own the safety of the floor. You will enforce strict adherence to PPE and ensure that the factory floor, walkways, and machinery stations are swept and cleared of trip hazards and offcuts by the end of every shift
- Machinery Maintenance: You will oversee the correct operation of all factory machinery. You will ensure daily and weekly basic machine cleaning is completed by staff, and immediately report any faults or breakdown risks to management.
- Stock Control: Keep a watchful eye on the factory floor's consumable stock levels. You will proactively notify the Production Manager when standard consumables drop below minimum levels, well before production is impacted.
- Communication & Handover: Maintain seamless, daily communication regarding floor progress. You will provide an accurate end-of-day report to the Production Manager outlining completed jobs, carry-overs, and any team matters.
