Annual Salary: AUD $76,515.00 plus superannuation
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of household electrical and electronic appliances at workshop facilities and customer premises. The role requires strong fault-finding abilities, technical expertise in electronic control systems, and the ability to provide high-quality customer service while ensuring all work complies with Australian safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repairing and replacing faulty components including thermostats, printed circuit boards (PCB), inverters, diodes, relays, capacitors, transformers, switches, sensors, and electronic control modules
- Diagnosing electrical and electronic faults in household appliances using specialised testing and diagnostic equipment
- Inspecting, testing, servicing, and repairing electrical appliances and associated systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining appliances at customer premises, including, Ovens, Rangehoods, Dishwashers, Dryers, Washing machines, Microwaves, Electric cooktops, Gas cooktops
- Adjusting, repairing, and replacing defective wiring, electrical circuits, electronic controls, and appliance components
- Conducting routine maintenance and preventative servicing on appliances and equipment
- Identifying technical issues and recommending suitable repair solutions and replacement parts
- Ensuring all repair and installation work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Maintaining accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and completed service reports
- Providing professional customer service and technical advice to clients regarding appliance maintenance and usage
- Coordinating with suppliers and internal staff regarding parts procurement and repair scheduling when required
Skills and Experience Required:
- Relevant qualification equivalent to Certificate III or higher in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Appliance Servicing, or a related field
- Minimum 1 years of relevant industry experience in appliance repair and electronic equipment servicing
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic diagnostic procedures and repair techniques
- Experience working with household appliances and electronic control systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage field service tasks efficiently
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Current driver license preferred
